We diligently conform to various standards for sustainability, participate in recycling schemes, and actively work to reduce our carbon footprint. SUSTAINABILITY

Imperial Office Furniture are certified to the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), and as such has a commitment to supporting sustainable forestry which complies with this internationally recognised forestry standard where harvesting is controlled as a part of a future sustainability plan. The premier material used in production is MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard), which is manufactured from waste wood that would otherwise have been disposed of and therefore contributes to saving deforestation. The MFC sourced by Imperial Office Furniture consists of 20% hackchips, 20% sawdust and 40% of other wood recycled materials.

RECYCLING

As part of our ISO 14001 accreditation, Imperial Office Furniture is committed to recycling as much of its waste products as possible. Any offcuts created in the production process are returned to stock for use and arrangements are in place onsite for the recycling of large wood wastes, grinded offcuts and dust created by our processes, with 886 tonnes recycled in 2024, as well as paper, cardboard, boarding and pallet packaging received with deliveries, in order to minimise our environmental impact.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

As a part of our ISO 14001 accreditation, Imperial Office Furniture has set itself an objective to collate and compare usage figures for natural resources for the previous and current year, and to maintain investment in new machinery, servers and wagons with improved efficiencies, and recorded reductions in fuel consumption, electricity and gas usage, paper and toner purchases and the purchase of cardboard and plastic for use in packaging, in comparison of the years 2022, 2023 and 2024, and will strive to maintain these reductions in 2025.

This certification promotes biodiversity, supports sustainable forestry, and ensures that our supply chain aligns with rigorous environmental and ethical standards.
